About the event
This is the second part of the storytelling series that will center Dr. A. Breeze Harper's latest novel-in-progress Seeds of Sankofa.
For this January 13 , 2023 event, Dr. Amie Breeze Harper will read the 1st chapter from Seeds of Sankofa and then will create prompts and questions for participants. They will be able to explore creative ideas around food, climate, soil, and racial justice within the context of Afrofuturism as well as other alternative futurisms such as indigenous futurisms.
This storytelling series is also connected to the upcoming April 2023 virtual conference organized by Dr. Harper, "Afrofuturism as a Regenerative Future: Beyond the 'Cruelty-Free' Plantation Model of FoodTech" which can be found here: http://www.abreezeharper.com/events-1
This first event, Dr. Harper's prolog reading, took place on November 18, 2022. If you missed the first session you can access the recording and the curated list of resources here.
Lastly, although the event is free, please consider donating. I am an independent writer/scholar and to be transparent, I have contributed a lot of free education, coaching, support, etc during my past 20 years and it would be great if those who can afford it, can donate. I make less than $90 a year in royalties from my first novel Scars, and like most writers, it is hard to write without monetary support. https://www.patreon.com/sistahvegan
On a Budget (Free ticket)
If you cannot donate to attend this event, I still want you to be able to access it. So, this is the free ticket option.
