Critical Race theory, food, consumption on Animal voices

(source: http://animalvoicesradio.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/sistah.jpg)

My October 12,2012 interview on Animal Voices is now available! Here is an excerpt from Animal Voices website describing the interview:

Breeze talks with us about her research, specifically the intersections of critical food geographies and critical race theories. In particular, she is interested in how racialized consciousness affects dietary consumption philosophies. She draws heavily on Queen Afua and questions food accessibility in communities of colour and points out that “eating from the colonial kitchen” can and does further oppress people of colour, especially outside the borders of North America.
